WASC Accreditation
WASC Accrediation
Walnutwood High School enjoys full accreditation by WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. A key part of the accreditation process is for schools to undertake a comprehensive self-review of how they are supporting student learning and identify key areas of improvement that will form the basis of the school’s action plan for the upcoming years. The WASC commission assigns a team to review the self study, conduct a site visit and validate the report and findings. After reviewing the recommendation of the WASC team, the commission then issues a term of accreditation of 1 or 6years.
After our last full self review, WHS received a 6-year term of accreditation. We are currently in the process conducting another self study, and your input is vital! The following are some ways you can participate:
- Be a member of the parent group that meets with the WASC visiting team next April
- Review and respond to our draft WASC self study found below
For your reading pleasure, the final draft of our 2012 Self-Study is available by clicking here. We welcome any comments or questions that our report any generate.
If you are interested in being involved at any level, please contact WHS principal Kim Walker.
